We had a great turnout for our first membership drive! An increase of about 250% based off of last year's numbers. I went around the room, invaded people's personal space, and asked them "How'd you hear about the membership drive?"
The data showed that all of the advertising techniques that we employed were successful. Older Tech Genius members networked with students and asked them to attend the meeting, many of the students saw posters hanging around the school, and many students (surprisingly) were able to hear about the club through the announcements.
The turnout did reveal a flaw in our advertising. We had no new female members! This is likely due to the fact that we can't hang posters in the girl's bathroom. Perhaps, in a couple of months we can host another membership drive and do our best to recruit more female students to diversify the club.
Our team is looking forward to a great year filled with opportunities for the newer members! The challenge now will be keeping the members active and involved with the club.
